My Diet, Favorite Supplements and Shampoo & Conditioner

First I want to say that I don’t have it all together. Every day we are given the option to decide to live the best life we can. I have been gluten and dairy-free for 13 years, I have an intolerance to both. Since then I have been on a journey that is all about living healthy and healing my gut, I have also been diagnosed with IBS.

I mostly eat a whole-food plant-based diet. I don’t handle caffeine and sugar well, so I avoid them as much as possible. Grains generally make me bloated so I limit how many I eat.

I try to eat veggies, healthy carbs, nuts, beans, and lentils. I eat real food, not processed food. I do buy a few things processed but 85% of my diet is real food. If you want to improve your diet I highly recommend finding ways to reduce the amount of processed food that you eat. Eliminating one item a week is an easier way to do that than cold turkey.

My Hair Products

I also do my best to use clean products on my hair and body. Did you know it takes just seconds for what you put on your skin to be absorbed by your body?

I have used Desert Essence Shampoo and Conditioner for about 8 years. I love that it is clean and helps my dry hair not be frizzy.

I also have been coloring my hair with Tints of Nature Hair Color for 6 years. I love that it is gluten-free, vegan, and cruelty-free. It’s also Free from Ammonia, Parabens, Resorcinol, and Propylene Glycol and contains only organic ingredients. My stylist always comments on how well cared for my hair is. I don’t use anything else on my hair, no styling products or hair sprays.

My Supplements

Let me start by saying, I am not a doctor, these supplements are what works for me. Please check with your doctor before changing any of your supplements. All of these have been recommended by my doctor for me.

I do my best to take the best supplements that I can. I have had a hypothyroid diagnosis in the past as well as adrenal fatigue. Both are testing great now but I credit that to my clean diet and excellent supplements.

My multivitamin is Metagenics PhytoMulti Without Iron. I have seen a change since starting these in September of 2022.

I take a few additional supplements such as DHEA for adrenal support, D3 since my blood work always comes back low in D3, and I love Ora Organic Probiotics with Prebiotics – Vegan Prebiotic and Probiotic for Digestive Health. I also take a B12 spray every day because I don’t eat meat anymore and my B12 levels always test low, so again this Is something my doctor has me on.
